Winter Tires for Summer????

is there any problems with running winter tires during the summer for daily driving. I don't do alot of highway travel. The reason being I got 2 flat tires last nite. I had the car towed to a shop and after looking at it the tires can't be fixed. The 2 remaining tires have bout 40% thread left. I'm gonna have to get 4 new ones and I don't want to put on just any tires and probably will be bout 3 weeks b4 i can get new ones. I have my winter tires wich i was thinking on stickin on for about 3 weeks.

Nothing particularly wrong with running winter tires, they'll just wear faster because they're a cold weather compound. Just don't get too aggressive because they'll get quite greasy from summer heat.

What kind of winter tires are you talking about or are they all season tires? I don't see why they would wear faster. They are made of a harder rubber than summer tires so they should last longer. I run Kumho ASX all year round and have never had any problems with them in dry or wet.

That tire is a High performance all season, not a "winter tire" like blizzacks or icebears. True "winter" tires are soft and wear fast when it's not cold.

Agreed. Winter tires are made from very soft compounds that don't respond well to heat.

i had ridden the mich pilot alpin pa2s a little long into the summer months because i was just too dang lazy to swap the advans back on, nothing particularly wrong that I could see for just putting around back and forth to work.
