is this a new design, i remember seeing them slotted but not drilled and what are the weights, I am getting ready for the rear and Girodisc was the only one offering significant weight reduction on the rear. Pricing?

The stock front rotor weighs in at 21.35 pounds.
Giro Disc Slotted front rotor weighs 17.4 pounds.
Giro Disc Cross Drilled & Slotted front rotor weighs 17.25 lbs.
The stock rear rotor weighs in at 14.6 pounds.
The Giro Disc Slotted rotor weighs in at 11.1 pounds.
I didn't weigh the rear cross drilled rotor yet but I am sure it is a little lighter than the Slotted Rotor.
I paid about $1750 for the set that was for cross-drilled and custom red anodized hats.
You can PM Girodisc Martin on the site, just do a search for Girodisc rotors.

Sweet, I have the Baer in the front, no complaints, light, but for quality I think Girodisc is better from what I have seen, hopefully in the next couple months I can get the rears.

i casually race and when I do, I am not hard on my brakes. I thought long and hard about getting cross drilled rotors.
I have talked to lots of people with no problems after 6 or more race events with no cracking also mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari, etc...all put cross drilled rotors on their cars.
Basically, if I start really racing I will buy some slotted only rotors.
The slotted ones will run you $1500 plus shipping.

The stock rotors overheat and contribute to brake fade. Aftermarket rotors have better venting which helps prevent brake fade.
If you want better stopping distance you will need to get different pads or bigger calipers.

I wouldn't use anything but blanks or slotted for doing HPDEs and trackdays on an EVO. I'm sure rotor quality also makes a difference but regardless the last thing I want to worry about are my brakes failing on the track. Since you are local , which tracks have you been too?

I have only been to Hastings, but before I moved here i raced at Texas World Speedway, Sebring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway (infield and part oval), Gateway International, Road Atlanta and Motorsport Ranch.

I know this only for the Porsche "cross drilled" rotors: the holes are cast, not drilled. This helps to significantly reduce the stress risers that develop around the holes. However, they do still crack around the holes and need careful inspection before and after every event, and occasional inspection while used on road.
I suspect the same can be said for Ferrari rotors...not sure about Mercedes.
