I have been buying YOKO A046 since I had the car. I have to replace them about every 7000 miles, they don't even last the whole summer. Has anyone tried the Bridgestone POTenza's or insight as to whatever anyone is using.

gracias

Neovas rock.

I have had them for 10k miles and I am a "spirited driver," and they have at least that much left in them.

Fuzion ZRi are nice and sticky. I got about 20 months out of them on my DSM.
Or 2 & 1/2 summers, "including" 5 or 6 trips to the drag strip a year.

I've had the Potenza's RE-01 now for 2-3 months (4,000 miles) now and I think the Yoko's are better. The side walls on the Bridgestone's are not as stiff and you know this as soon as you take a tight turn. On the drag strip they do grip well, and in the rain they are excellent. Nose is very little, and the ride is nice and smooth, but I think I drive the car too hard and need a R compound so the A048 is what I'm going to use now, since my RE-01's for my 18's cost me $1,048 when I could get yoko's for a few hundred more...

I have the Bstone RE050A pp, and its a great alternative to the stockers at 1/2 the price. Would love to try the A048. Also, wouldn't mind experimenting with a tire like the Federal 595RS. But, theres not much info on these around.

I been using Potenza RE070 "there OEM STi tires" I loved them there pretty sticky and about 1/3 cheaper then the Advans which r probally the best tires tho !!! but you do need to go down a size for the RE070... 225!

the RE01R's (I'm not sure if that's what you have) actually come in a 255-40/17 size which is perfect for most Evo's running 17X8.5 or 17X9 rims. . .it's surprising that you find the sidewalls inadequate, from the reviews I've heard, people have said that it's just as stiff as stock. . .the rubber compound they use isn't as grippy though, which is why you'll get 15-20k miles on them versus barely 7500 on the stockers. . .
