Anyone with Carbotech XP8?
What can I expect from XP8?
Comparing it vs stock vs Ferodo2500 would give me a better understanding.
Street/Road/Track
Noise
Fade
Uneven pad transfer
Initial bite
Extreme braking like 160+ to 0.
Thanks

I use them as my track pads. Good initial bite, rotor-friendly and great life. I don't recommend them as street pads... The noise is unbearable and they will chew up the rotors if not in proper operating temp. They are much better than stock pads in track uses and probably outperform ferodos too. That said, I've faded xp8s twice since I started running R-comp tires and will probably upgrade to xp-10 for my next set. Hope that helps...

I use the XP8 at the rear. If you're really hitting 160 you'll want to run something like an XP12 up front. I get about 5-6 days out of a set of XP10 with little wear on the rotors. This is on a mostly stock '03 just going out for fun, but I do like to brake hard.

What do you use at the front?
I think that the XP12 is race only.
I would like the best of both worlds, street/track pad.
I heard that the Ferodo DS2500 would fit my needs, but heard that the XP8 is less noisy than Ferodo and resists a lot of heat.
I tried a lot of pads and any passed the 160-0 test and I think that Ferodo can not withstand 160.

No such thing. It's so easy to change pads it's not worth the compromise.
Have you done any track driving yet? If you're just starting out then something like the Hawk HP+ is probably good, XP8 will be noisy on the street. You just don't get enough clear track to really work your brakes anyway. There's no way you'll see 160!

What do you say for autobahn users?
I'm sure that the Evo can go easily to 160+. How many whp does your evo make?
Maybe some fiber shims can solve the noise problem. I will try. I will post my review later...
btw, maybe you have noise problems because the rear brakes can't be strong(abrasive) enough to clean the disc surface.
