Falken Azenis RT-615 vs BFG KD

Hey guys,

I don't think this has been covered. I have tbeen running the Falkens in 255/40/17's for over a year now and like them a lot. However, the BFG's seem real nice as well. I want ultimate dry grip and performance with decent tire life. I don't need wet traction bc it never rains in socal but the car is my DD. Which tire do you think is better for ultimate cornering and grip? Thanks guys!

I have the bfg's and i am not impressed. they are not as grippy as the advans. They tend to scream a lot. Im going to the falcons on my next set. I believe the falcons are prefered for autox. but not exactly that great for tracking your car as they get hot so fast and become greasy...

I think if you were to witch to the KD you would be disappointed. I'd stick with the good old Azenis for the use you described.

I just switched from 245/40-17 KD's to 245/45-17 RT615s a couple months ago. I like the Falkens quite a bit more. From what I can tell, there's more grip and the sidewalls are stiffer. I highly recommend the Falkens.

KDs have the same treadwear as Azenis. KDs are great tires, but more expensive than Azenis. For the price, not much can beat Azenis.

If you have the $ spend the extra cash on the Bridgestone RE-01Rs...I have them in 245/40/17 on the stock wheel and have to say that they are fantastic. Today was my first experience with them in AutoX and I have to say that they were much more predictable than the stock Advans, and seemed to have almost as much grip. They also aren't as loud on the road

Re01R's should destroy the factory advans. Azenis make advans look silly and the re01r's are much better still.

Toyo RA-1, since you don't drive in the wet. Although it is R-compound, its cheap and somewhat durable.

You really think the Azenis "make advans look silly" Hmmm. I think allot of people will disagree with you on that.

Yes, from my experience The KDs have a relatively hard compound, and soft sidewalls. The way I drive that = vaporized tires and dissatisfactory handling and performance.

from owning both in a racing environment, its not even close. Azenis are completely superior. On the STREET would you notice this? I couldnt tell you, i only test them during autoXing.

Azenis are autocross tires. Try hot lapping those punks and see what happens. Advans are and were better for me. I buy Azenis cause of price and ease of getting them.

Where can you buy the Flakens? Tirerack and Discount Tire do not carry them.
