The problem is, the RT-615s aren't made in 235/45ZR17 sizes... closest are 235/40, 245/45 and 255/40.

Well the overall wheel/tire diameters are within an inch or so of one another....
235/45/17: 25.326 inches
235/40/17: 24.401 inches
245/45/17: 25.681 inches
255/40/17: 25.031 inches
235/45/17: 25.326 inches

whats the stock advans AO46 size? is it 245/45/17???
ALSO, how are the toyo proxies 4?? what size should i get them in for street driving, my car is a daily driver but i also go to the drags and in the track sometimes. SO i guess my question would be what are all around all season best tires (good for rain and tarmac) and for taking fast corners??

so is it worth getting the RT-615s for the street or get the Advan Neovas?
After this set I will buy the stock Advans again, but right now i need tires and they are a little out of range....

I was just reading something on grassroots.com ( I think )
They did temp and traction tests on the RT615 vs RE01R. They'd apparently been using the RT615's for SCCA competition up to the point of the article.
It ended up with the RT615 being more responsive to inputs but lacking in traction comparitvely. The RE01R's having the better traction, were a bit less responsive and the performance was highly dependent on maintaining of proper tire pressures.
Long story short--both of those are solid tires, and I wouldn't kick either one out of bed for eating crackers. Regardless of the little nuances here and there that make them different from one another, the average daily driver isn't going to notice the differences all that much.
I'd personally pick the RE01R I think now, mainly because the added traction and it's not much more in cost.

I got 10K out of my stock Advans......I too am running the RT615's......but I find the 255/40/17 sizing works better that the 245/45/17's I tried before this.

I'm tring some of the new dunlops that may not have the same ultimate grip as the top 2 tires, but they have less understeer and are fun to slide for road use.

I bet you'd get better times on the Yokohama's than you would on the Falken's.

A lot of people look for other tires that are not as expensive and have equal qualities or better. The only way to do this is to try them out. True, the manufacturer deemed that Yoko's would be a great choice for this car due to their inherent qualities...but honestly...do you see most SCCA comps where people are running the stockers? What about our aftermarket vendors who pride themselves on improving our cars' performance on the street AND track?
They're great tires...but aren't the only good ones out there made for this vehicle. Sidewall isn't everything--though I too would like to find a cheaper alternative with sidewalls equal to or better our A046's.
FWIW--I'm going to use RE050APP's on my Rota wheels for daily driving, and use the RE01R's on my BBS rims for HPDE's (autocross and the straight track). Hopefully after these there might be something that is proven across the board to be equal to or better than the A046 at a cheaper price.
