BremBo Retainer PINS and CLIPS

OK

not sure if any one else has this problem...

I have lost 3 pins and 3 clips on the rear Calipers. Fronts nothing yet...

I track the hell out of my EVO, But I can't keep losing pins and clips.. especially when you are doing MID-OHIO or GINGERMAN...

Does any one know of after market PINS that have COTTER pins in them or another type on retention device to make sure the pins do not come out...

look at my shots...

I want to buy Front and Rears no chances...

you would still have brakes. the pads wont just fall out. i would say either drill them and use safety wire or replace them. and made sure they are all the way in each time. they may seem in at times but really not be. i really dont see how they could possibly come out if they are in correct.

Sti pins have cotter's instead of the expanding bushing. It's much nicer to deal with. I know the calipers are very similar, but I think there are some rotor thickness differences so I'm not sure if they'll fit. You might want to check what happened to this guy too...

Well I can tell you I have swapped pads so many times... I know how to install them and take them out... I have even used a SET and pushed them even deeper into the caliper and yet.... still came out

now the pads didn't come out because the other PIN stayed in (PHEW) but I check after each session and BAM 2 this past weekend... I Ordered kits from the dealer when I lost the first one... now 3 kits later ... I guess I could drill a TINY hole and run safety wire thru it, or get some tiny cotter pins... but on the fronts you would have to drill before the caliper... i'm wondering if any one makes racing replacements...

no SCCA Body would let these run as is... being able to fall out... plus it's just nuts if you lose 2 pins (NO BRAKES WATCH OUT)

so i guess i'm not alone... just need to find replacements... Fronts included... some one has to make them... I have a Call into Brembo also...

also all the guides in the calipers are perfect... I have detailed shots of all my calipers and everything is perfect with them all...

I can say this car has been PERFECT... 32K no clutch issues nothing i mean nothing... and I have tracked it at least 60 days since 04 and they are HARD DAYS... I maintain it well OIL every 2500 some upgrades... minus this issue (BIG ONE for me since brake HARD i need to get this fixed before next season)

Over the winter more MODS coming...

Roll Cage (maybe debating)
Roll Bar (might be the choice)
new Camera Mount
Floating slotted rotors (looking for the best here all the way around)
Brake Duct system
Maybe coil overs (just got the GTWORX Springs... and man they are awesome think i'm waiting on the Coilovers till 09 when wife gets 135i

Yup, the sti pins are great. There's no expanding bushing that you need to "gently force" in - just pull them through until you see the hole for the pin and put the pin in. I should stop being lazy and just order a set to test them since I always throw them out there as a possible mod idea.
