New tire from Toyo. The R1R.

Look sweet.

For those who were disappointed with the T1R, Toyo will soon be releasing the Proxes R1R, a max performance tire more compatible with the other tires the T1R competed against in the Car and Driver tire test (which the T1R fared poorly). For details on sizing (there will be a few sizes to fit the 6), click on the link:

Toyo® Introduces the Proxes® R1R™ Designed For Extreme Performance

October 30, 2007– LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation introduces the Proxes® R1R™, an extreme performance tire for sports coupes and sedans. The Proxes R1R provides the ultimate dry weather traction for the enthusiast driver who wants maximum performance from his/her car.

Featuring a look all its own, the Proxes R1R has a dynamic arrowhead tread pattern for excellent water drainage and wet performance. Its wide footprint delivers both ultimate handling and an aggressive appearance to give your car the edge. A product of Toyo’s Tmode® advanced computer design technology, the Proxes R1R incorporates a high-grip compound working in concert with an autocross-inspired casing.

Additional features of the Proxes R1R include a rim protector molded into the sidewall to help protect expensive wheels from curb damage. A high steel side ply ensures a rapid steering response, while a spiral-wound cap ply contributes to high-speed stability.

Featuring a 140 AA A UTQG rating, the Proxes R1R is ideal for aggressive street driving, the street touring category of SCCA® autocross and the street classes for time attack. It is also an excellent choice for drifting, high performance driving schools and track days. Four sizes are initially being offered, fitting 15- to 18-inch diameter wheels. Several additional sizes, ranging from 15- to 18-inch rim diameters will be introduced through the middle of 2008.

To learn more about the Proxes R1R, designed for extreme performance, log on to toyo.com. Toyo manufactures and distributes a complete line of replacement tires for high performance cars, luxury vehicles, light trucks and SUVs as well as tires for commercial trucks, buses and off-road and construction applications.

From the link I believe it shows that the 255/35/18 is out now.

If this is accurate information I will be the guiney pig for you guys and try them out. They just won't get tested until the spring LOL.
