I am a little confused....this doesn't state that caliper paint had any issues from the factory.

thats why the paint fades and the clear peals, the Tech does as taught he bleeds the brakes when changing pads and doesn't wipe the fluid off the caliper well or if he does wipe it off he doesn't clean it good enough. Its not every day a Tech works with a painted caliper. Also when you take your wheels off, especially with a impact gun, make sure the wheel rim doesn't knock into and chip the caliper.

Is that what dealership do? I mean, replace it with new calipers? If so, that's great... I should take mine.

I visited the local Mitsu dealer about 3 weeks ago about this, and they told me that they will no longer perform any warranty work on the brakes for peeling of the calipers. They said that the TSB is no longer valid or something like that.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to this?

It is known that brake fluid will damage the finish of any caliper if there is a finish to it. Use water to neutralize brake fluid.

When I talked to brandon at Brembo he said it was not so much a problem with brake fluid (although brake fluid will destroy any paint) as it was the choice of paint that mitsu wanted them to put on the calipers.

mine peeled before any pad change, or brake fluid leakage/spillage. Just crappy clear coat and or paint from the factory. Trying to blame the technician, now that's rich!

That's what Mitsu wants you to think. I never got a drop of brake fluid on the calipers and all four corners were peeling. I harassed the dealership, took in pictures and gave him a CD with the pics on it. They replaced them but said the crappy clearcoat on the wing of my '03 was not warranty.... 4 months later and the entire wing is peeled.

Both of our EVOs had pelling calipers before the first pad change. Another BS mitsu deal.

I dont really care though I'll get around to paiting the eventually.
