Believe that! My buddy had a STI, on stockers, had his first crash with it, a month after he got it!
I put some Blizzaks on last week! It is suppose to snow here in Cleve. today.
Also Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

This is absolutely true.
The stock yokohama tires have ZERO traction on even the slightest snow.
I recently picked up as set of Hankook Icebear W300's on 17" rims from discount tire. I had these tires on another car, and they worked great on snow and ice...plus you can get them in stock size.

QFT. If I even hear the word "snow" mentioned in the forecast, the snow tires go on. Looks like we're getting our first sprinkling already here in Chicago. Drive safe people, and happy Thanksgiving!

I'm glad you posted this, because I fear too many evo owners could care less about their tires. DON'T TAKE ANY CHANCES WITH SUMMER ONLY TIRES IN THE WINTER!!! I had an appointment to put on my winters the other day, and out of nowhere it started snowing. It wasn't much, maybe a 1/4 of an inch at most and mostly slush, so I decided to try getting out of my driveway. Not only could I barely get up the hill, but I actually slid down when I tried to stop and nearly crashed into a stone wall. Here's a picture of something nobody should ever see, Bridgestone RE-01R tread in the snow!
