Looking for opinions: DMS 40mm

Because most EVO owners are cheap. That is also why you will see a lot of owners recommend Megans, BC, etc. If you are considering the EVO as a track car, Ohlins, KW V3s, DMS, Motons, Koni Race, JRZs etc should work well. With that EVO owners that usually track their car tend to go with Ohlins and KW V3 due to price. The fact that Robi sells KWs and Chronohunter used to recommend Ohlins, might has something to do with that.

I've been running some DMS 40's w/ MSI spherical top mounts since the summer With some autocross on them and several hard back road runs with nasty terrain and they have held up amazingly well. They have taken some very hard hits through Boston highways, and most other coilovers would have possibly blown. Can't go wrong with them.
Ps: these things are fairly massive, if you run into problems on install pm me.

Great info, I may take you up on that offer. If you don't mind sharing was there a particular issue you ran into during install. They coils are definately really beefy looking. Also notice you're from Boston, Nice to know the coils can handle the abuse driving around here insures.
What are peoples recomendations on top hats, is it critical to go with aftermarket, It looks like they will work with stock but am wondering what the performance drop off would be.

There is a specific order to putting the rears in with the lower control arm. You may also run into the issue of the adjustment collar contacting the upper control arm when the suspension is unloaded, but it's an easy fix! I would recommend running the tops from DMS. Having adjustable camber plates up front is super nice, especially when you want more precise alignment adjustments as well as range of adjustment. Another huge plus to them is they are solid, they feel great and have no slop unlike the stock rubber mounted tops.

Plus the front camber plates lock in place.
