Toyo RA 1 heat cycling?

I recently bought my first set of R compound tires. I was suggested to buy RA1s and I did. Just a couple of days ago I was reading about someone who installed a set of R compound Nittos and that the best way to make the tires last was to take them to their operating temperature and then letting them cool down completely. Is this the same for the Toyos?
Thanks

Yes, its the same for all tires. Heat cycling them will "cure" the tire. They'll last longer due to the compound hardening a little without giving up any real grip.
Hope this helped.

No it's not the same for all tires, some tires will benefit more and some don't need any. If you're going to do it right some people say they should be unweighted for a 48 hour cool down period after the first heat cycle.

OK, I stand corrected.
Why don't you call someone at the TireRack and ask them? They would know.

Thanks for the help. I don't have a problem heating them on a track day and then parking the car of a day or two. About the tires being unweighted, I don't know, that means putting the car on jacks and I think that is to much. Thanks

I got a set of RA-1s from Frisby they told me that they really don't need to be cycled a lot of high performance tire sales companies will heat cycle for you then ship giving them the chance to "relax" in transit. TireRack bring one of them. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=66

Biggest thing you don't want to do is drive them *****-out the first time. They'll chunk.

Mount them, and take a few trips up/down the road and get them 'to speed' if you can. That'll help some.

Take it easy the first time out, watch your temps and keep that session short!

What I could do is mount them and ride them for a couple of days. Usually when we go to the track we do 30 min. sessions and then rest for another 30 min. and so on. That can take care of cooling the tires a bit and not punish them so much.
Thanks for the advice

If they are full tread 8/32" RA1's, I'd make that first session pretty short.

Ideally they say bring them up to heat gradually and then let them sit for 24-48hrs. A lot of us can't do that because we don't have multiple sets of tires/rims to run at the track.
Stay on top of those tire pressures, ideally hot ~40 is good imo.
