did you reuse the stock shims?

if you didn't use anti squeal grease which it sounds like you didn't then there is your issue

I changed the pads on my buddies STI with hawk HP+ pads thinking I had grease but I didn't...they squeal but it has gotten much better after the first 1k miles

+1 any aftermarket Pads and agressive pads will Squeak theres not hiding from it. Ive used 2 Sets of OEM pads no squeaks didnt even have to apply Anti Squeal nor new shims, decided to go with some aftermarket since tired of paying RAPE charge for some BREMBOS (i like how the Bremebos bite its just the Brake Fluid they USE SUCK too much brake fad) soo i decided to go with Project Mu (B-force) since there aftermarket i used anti squeal, even turned my rotors to make sure there wasnt any Lip on them BED them correctly and sure enough after 10+miles there was the slight squeak didnt use new shims but i highly doubt there gonna stop my squeaks. aftermarket pads sure enough Bite harder then OEM so your going to get improving braking ability and have a slight squeak with your HAWK pads so its not a bad thing unless you cant handle squeaks then get OEMs and call it a day that my .02cents

The HPS pads should rarely sqeak if you:
  1. Used new unused rotors, or cleaned the old ones off with a wire wheel/sandpaper
  2. Bedded them in properly
  3. MOST IMPORTANTLY, peeled the fibre shims off the OE pads and reused them on the new ones!!

The last is the one most people fail to do...

BTW, to me, the OE pads are crap... even for the street. My first choice is Ferodo DS 2500s. My second, bang for the buck, choice is the Hawk HPS. Properly installed and bedded (with new rotors, or properly cleaned used rotors), neither one of those squeak any more than OE. Then again, what would I know being that I only do this type of work...

The oem shims attached to the stock pads will help reduce noise
