Help: Squeaky Hawk Brake Pads

Okay so I installed the Hawk Brake Pads about a month ago. The thing is it still squeaks when it gets hot and it's only the front right side. I have done the bedding procedure. I have also bled the brakes. Any body got some ideas? I heard that I can put some anti-squeaking paste on, but anybody know where the certain points are?

I'm thinking about actually purchasing OEM front brake pads and replacing it. Good or Bad idea?

Any brake pads out there that don't squeak at all and still maintain the same performance as the Hawk Pads

Those pads are meant for the track, and that's why they squeek... I use them at the track (and they don't squeek). But hey, maybe check your rotors too

I had them on my Evo. The car sounded like a bus when breaking at low speeds... I'd go back to OEM if I were you.

did you put some Anti Cease, or Tread locker, between the pads and shims? this keeps the squeks away

What Hawk pads are you talking about? HPS? HP+? DTC-70?

Any of these pads are typically going to squeak and squeal - even the HPS street pads. Hawk describes them as "virtually noise-free", which means they aren't noise-free. Make sure you put the shims back on, and in the proper orientation. The stock pads have some silicone backing on them that prevent that vibration that produces the squeal. You could try some CRC Disc Brake Quiet, available at NAPA.

I run HP+ pads and just live with the squealing. I haven't tried the CRC Brake Quiet yet, but will when I swap in new pads this spring for the upcoming track season.

Here's another option you can consider if it's really that bothersome... anti-squeal brake shims.

I haven't heard any reviews of them, so I can't say they are guaranteed to work as intended.
