I had tein springs on my stock struts, they def. slammed the car to the ground.

I was worried the first time out on the track, but the car didnt handle terribly. It's still an evo, after all. In fact I was only 1 sec slower than my bro's cammed 350hp evo.

Well i used to run tanabe gf210's on my car before i got full coilover suspension. they were great. i ran them for about 10,000 miles. the car ran great. the only reason why i changed them was because i wanted to start showing my car and i wanted to lower it way more. here's what sold me on tanabe's site. It's their manufacturing process. hopefully that helps. pricing is great too.

I am in the process of buying a ix and I find a lot of them just have "springs" .. I am buying this car mostly for its handling so I really wanted stock suspension.

any info?

I usually hear things of that sort from owners with the Tanabes, which seem to make decent springs for daily driving. I'm not sure about how they perform on the track though, haven't heard much.

if you are just looking for the looks of lowered evo, with slight improved handling the best springs out there are Swift and GTworx...

now if you want to go all out...a good set of coilovers would be the best way to go. I didn't get a chance to read the entire thread...but what will the primary use of your evo be: DD, autoX, drag, road course???? that should dictate what type of suspension upgrade you should get.

^ Well, the guy was just asking how bad some springs affect the stock suspension since he's looking at buying a used Evo, but most of them already have springs on them, so we're telling him what to expect regarding the condition of the suspension if it's equipped with a certain spring.

I checked out GTWork's website... are the Swift springs they sell their own version of them that dont lower the car so much?

No, the Swifts that they sell are the same Swifts you could get anywhere else. They have their own spring that they manufactured that lowers the car a tiny bit less:

what struts are you guys using?

when i got my car it had a set of eibach prokit springs so i never really felt the way the stockers were. so i'm kinda dont know if the eibach are better or worse. i will be getting an alignment soon

^ Can you just post a pic or two of the car, preferrably a side shot? I read that Eibachs give a 1.2" drop all around, I'm curious how that looks.
