Anyone using the Sumitomo HTR Z III?

Anyone using the Sumitomo HTR Z III? I have heard many good things about it on other forums. On a Tire Rack test it finished first against some really nice Max Performance tires. Anyone using it on an EVO? I am not talking about the Sumitomo HTR Z or the Sumitomo HTR Z II. This is about the Sumitomo HTR Z III a completely different tire than the ones it replaces.

Yup, I'm running them. Don't expect anywhere near the same grip as the Yoko's, especially when its cold out. They're great tires if you don't push your car to the limit though (which you shouldn't be doing on the street anyway).

If I'm turning at all when full boost hits in first they break loose in the rain. I have hydroplaned them. I no longer drive faster than 70 when it's raining. They're decent as long as you respect their limits.

I was looking over the specs of these tires on tirerack and it says that you shouldn't drive on them in temps below 50 degrees. I have a couple questions about this. First, is this true for most performance tires? Second, if it is true then what do people like myself who live in a climate where it is below 50 degrees most mornings, and even in the summer, do for performance tires? What happens if you drive in near freezing temps? Is it completely unsafe?

I've been using the HTR II's, if that means anything. They're great tires for the cost.

The majority of us here really really like that tire, especially for the price. In our testing it did great in the wet and very very good in the dry. I wouldn't say they are as good as the stock Yoko, but nothing else really is either. Easy pick over the Kumho MX and gave the B-Stone RE050A PP a run for its $$.

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to give these a try when it comes time to change my tires.
