Q about the whiteline bump-steer bushings

I just had the car corner-weighted and aligned today. The mechanic who did the work told me that I should change them to new ones since there was free-play between metal sleeves inside the bushings and the bolts. He claimed that there shouldn't be any free-play betw/ them? Is this true? I only put these bushings a few months ago and had 3 trackdays since then, so bushings being worn-out doesn't seem like an answer... Anyways, people who have experience with these, please chime in. Thanks a lot.

Once the bolts are torqued down it doesn't matter, the free play is gone.
