I was going through the motorsports section and people are really liking the new DTC's from Hawk. I still have a set of blues to run through but then I'm going with the new hotness from Hawk.

PFC and Hawk

The pad apps change on the speed of the track your running. Under super hard conditions, the biggest problem you'll get is fluid boil, regardless of the pad you use. Proper air flow is critical, if you don't have brake ducting, get some if your serious about running consistantly. I've seen lots of Evos and STIs with their brakes on fire....

Had good expience with the Hawks and PFCs, the PFC seem to have better modulation once up to the higher temps that the Evos get up to. IMOP everything else is for "fast street" driving.

The PFCs and Hawks will waste the paint on your wheels if you let it sit, be sure to clean them quickly after the event.

Everyone should know that the Hawk Blues will destroy your rims. They are ok if you don't get the dust wet, but once any moisture hits the dust, say goodbye to whatever the dust is on.

You can't go wrong with carbotech. I have also used cobalt friction and really like the pedal feel on those. If you want carbotechs just call up carbotech directly. I had them ship me mine 2 day the first time I tracked the evo. I took delivery of the car and had a track day 7 days later so it was last minute. They got them to me on time!

XP12s are really noisy. Noisiest brakes pads I have ever run by far. They stop like crazy though! Depending on the track you could get away with XP10 on the front with 8s on the back. If you are interested in cobalt friction look at XR1/front and XR2/rear. They are pretty cool. They work almost as well as street tires in the cold. I was impressed. Some people claim then begin to crumble more then others as they wear down, but I didn't notice anything weird.

I ran both carbotech and cobalt friction on my S2000 and have always been happy.

edit: Also, the dust is very non-corrosive with both carbotech and cobalt friction.
