Ok with all the talk about the Z1's vs the RE-01R's.... *I hope this helps some*

Great. They sold out in 2 days. No problem, just settle for RE01s right?
WRONG!!!
The Tire Rack has now jacked the price of 245/40/17 RE01s to $205 each! W...T...F... seriously. At that price, for a tire that you rated below the AD07, we might as well go ahead and get AD07s!
NEAL, is there some other reason, like Bridgestone raised the price? I sure hope so, because it sure looks like you guys are just milking the market availability for all it's worth (or more).

How do these tires discussed here match up against the Nitto NT-01 as far as track use goes. I am in Australia with a modded Evo 3 and do a few hillclimbs and sprint days on the circuit. The full on semi slicks over here are close to $400 each, and I am some what interested in getting some NT-01s shipped over due to their good pricing if they are the goods.

$25 price increase today on the RE01-R in 265/35/18....
That means the Z1 Star Spec is now $42 cheaper for each tire...I couldn't see anything from the Tirerack's testing to justify the Price difference...Z1 it is!

I think the price increases have more to do with the weak dollar and increased cost of doing business (fuel) then jacking up prices to screw customers. Since they are not the only tire dealer, you can always shop around. I would bet that you will see these price increases across the board.
