Can someone tell me the actual height difference between 245/40/18 and 255/35/18 ON 18x9.0 wheel?

As far as I know 255/35's are recommended for 18x9.0 but 245/40's will work just as fine.

What you mean by why? I answered your question with information that would help you and even told you that I ran 255/35's.

It's simple...245/40's are a taller tire. Your probably gonna have rubbing issues with either size tire you go with. You'll have some rubbing up front with the 245's and rubbing in the rear with the 255's. I had rubbing issues with my 245's and my 255's. I ended up getting rid of the 245's and ran 235's. When I ran 255's I rolled my rear fenders.

So you're saying that 245/40 will still be 25.7" even after being put on 18x9.0 wheel? Are you taking wheel width into consideration when you're talking about the height?

Becaus 25.7" is what the tire stands when its not mounted.

Okay....here is my old set up and what I have experience with...

I had a set of 18 X 8.5" Volks. When I bought them, they had 245/40 Nitto's on them. Without the car being lowered, they rubbed in the front. I took the tires off and put 235/40 Kumho MX's on them. Those tires worked perfect. The stock tires are 25.3" and the MX's are 25.5". When I had the Nitto's taken off, they were clearly ALOT taller than the MX's. I put them side by side with both tires NOT on the wheel.

I then had a set of 18 X 9 Advan RG2's with a +29 offset. I was running Yokohama AVS ES 100's. Those tires were 25.3" tall just like the stock tires. My car was lowered on S-Tech's at the time and I didn't have any rubbing issues simply cause of the negative camber my car had. My rubbing issues didn't start until I put some HKS coilovers on my car. I didn't want to run a bunch of negative camber so when it was corrected the tires rubbed. That was when I rolled the fenders.

I know people run 245/40's on the 9" wheels. I don't have experience with them on a 9" wheel. I'm just telling you want did and didn't work for me and what I did to correct it. Stretching it might take away from the overall height, but IMO not much. I would think your still gonna have rubbing issues up front.

Roll your rears and put some wider tires on there.

Thanks for the clarification!
I'll go see what I can do.
