Any of you guys run 235/40/17 Nitto NT01 for track?
I'm going to be doing another HPDE but will be using the stock rims which of course has an 8" width. 255/40 would be too wide to fit 8" and 245/45 would be too tall (I had 245/45 rt-615 on before and rubbed the fender liners constantly during hard cornering and believe me, I'm not that low). Nitto doesn't make 245/40 NT01's. Would the 235/40 be too small? Any of you guys tried this on stock rims at the track? I know the speedo will be off by a couple of mph but I don't care because I'm only using them for track and going to sell them afterwards.

Sorry to revive such an old thread. I'm thinking of running this setup, 235/40/17 on stock rim, for next month and was looking for some feedback. Has anyone tried it??
Thanks,
JCG

It will be for solo 1 type events.
We run 5 to 7 lap heats in a 1.52 mile, 12 turn road course. The track has 2 pretty tight hair pin turns, some 3rd gear turns, a very fast S turn into the long straight where we enter in 3rd and go up to 4th. My car is an 04' with basic performance bolt on's, Espelir GT lowering springs and camber plates. I might remove my intake in order to install an upgraded rear sway bar and stay in the same class. What do you think about the NT-01's for my setup? I'd like them to last a few events with good grip. I'd use 235/40/17 on stock rims.
Thanks in advance for the advice,
JCG

I believe the 245/40 are not available, only 245/45 that would be too tall... I think 235/40 would shorten gearing a little and this will help me in a bolt-on only Evo, for a shorter track. Any thoughts?
