Falken Azenis RT-615 255/40/18 on 18x8.5

So I was told these tires run wider than normal. Someone actually told me the RT-615 in 245 are wider than some Dunlop 255s.

Anyone have experience with these tires (255) on 8.5 wide wheels?

(I'm aware I'll need to roll my rear fenders.)

Thanks in advanced guys.

If anything I would say quite the opposite. That's why people run 255's on stock rims because they are LESS wide than usual.

ya, i wanted to ask the same question, will it be better on 18x8.5rims with 245 40 18 or 255 40 18 RT615wheels?

ps: 255 too wide and will it hit the side? I LOWERED with TANABE GF210.

Answer found... Seems to be fine... Don't know why someone thought they were "so much wider"

Other way around. My Dunlop Z1s (245/45/17) were as wide as my Falken 615s (255/40/17).

if you wanna avoid any hassle of possibly rolling fenders go with 245.
