Hey man! Yes, I use my HPS's for AXing. But I liked the harder bite of my GranSport GS5s (more like DS2500s). Lots of initial grab. HPS has more pedal control though, which I like in street driving.

I am using Mintex Extreme and they are nice and quiet on the street, but the initial bite wasn't as strong as I wanted when doing the autox at WW4. I have never used the GS5's or the DS2500's are they manageable for street driving?

Ya, totally manageable. I just didnt like the noise-drive they cause since I am used to having more pedal modulation. I try to keep the pads similar to how my race pads are. Just so I dont have to relearn braking everytime I am out on the track.

The 2500's have a great bite at street temps.

Update - HT-10

OK so here's an update. Since I had some life in my HPS's I decided to go with the HT-10's per suggestions on this thread, and not the HP Plus, and then see after my track day If i needed to swap or not. Well I can tell you this the HT-10 stopped fine on the street but SHREDDED my rotors, even considering it was only a day and a half before my track session. So after the track day I swapped the HPS back in.

On the track though they were great. I took the time on the first session to bed them well, and was careful not to come to a complete stop, due to warping (TV) issues i've heard of. The pads were definitely a big improvement over the HPS but not the night and day difference I was expecting after talking to a few people. Definitely lasted well deep into each session and the day, much, much better than the HPS, but I still lost a little confidence as they heated up at the end. I'm still waiting for my ducts, hopefully this will help.

Oh and after, no vibrations at all, and the grinding was gone due to the thick *** transfer layer that was laid down. I knew it was a matter of time though before that was ground off, and it was back to the rotor.

I guess I'm a track day swapper now. I'll apply my laziness somewhere else.

Thanks for the great advice

Correct, at street temps you dont get about the 300F needed for the pads. So they more or less are concrete blocks in there. But it does a great job in cleaning off the old material.

Humm...on the HT10s my braking is much more aggressive than my HPS. What tech do you use? I am a wait, wait, oh crap, stomp on the brake for a few seconds, off the brake, into turn. If that makes sense Bascially, dont drag the pad or you will build up too much heat and they will fade away. They like a hard push then off them.

Ha.. Yeah I could definitely be easier on the pads. When I reign it in a tick er two and brake early, I just end up dragging and making it worse. Someday I'll learn

If you are not going to track your car... there is no point in getting upgraded brake pads and spending the money.

Let me repeat... If you're not tracking your car, why spend the money?

]Evo's have great brakes to begin with. Autozone Duralast for $60 all around will do just fine.

Me? I track my car and use Pagid Yellow RS19's. THE BEST PAD around. No fade, little dust, not corrosive and wear like iron. Did I forget to say they stop like nobody's business. A great track/street pad.

I'd highly recommend the Ferodo 2500's. The Project Mu B-Force pads are just rebranded Ferodo 2500's, btw.

You might also want to check the Performance Friction Z-Rated compound if they make a pad in the correct DSI#(or whatever it's called).

I can also recommend Carbotech AX6 and XP8's for track and street use.

Good luck!
