VWjeff, they would be terrible for drag. R-comp track tires are not the same as drag radials. R-comps like this have a stiff sidewall made for handling. Drag tires have soft sidewalls for crinkling on the launch. You need two dedicated sets of tires for track and drag - not the same tire. Or, you can do a dedicated set for drag (small/light rims with small drag radials) and another set for DD/Track in which case A048 would work since it's not a DD.
The a048's have what looks to be a really nice contact patch. Plus they are wider and taller per Yoko's website.

I also am looking at the Toyo, but they dont offer a 235/45 17

They will be worse due to having an even stiffer sidewall. You don't need width for drag as much as you need a tire made for drag racing. Even a 225-width BFG drag radial would do you better than some really wide r-comp made for handling. An all-season tire would also do better, but there really is nothing that will be good for both road course and drag. You need to specialize your tires, especially with a car that awesome. How about some A048s (or similar) for DD and track but a set of small/light rims and drag radials for drag. It would make a world of difference...
