Is that link just for the bearing or the whole hub assembly? I thought they were 2 pieces.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to be changing this out soon, since this has been going on for a LONG while, with the clunking and whatnot.

It is sold as a hub & bearing assymbly. I sell a decent amount of these and they only come 1 piece from Mitsubishi.

Thanks for all the info!

I just placed an order for one, and it prob can't get here soon enough. It's getting pretty loud now. Hopefully there was no other damage done.

Also, any good ideas how to get the axle nut off with the wheel off the ground?

Thanks!

1. Undo the section of the nut's flange that's been "indexed" into the groove of the axle with an appropriately-sized flathead screwdriver and a hammer.

2. 1/2" air impact @ 120-140 psi.

Evos use castellated nuts with split pins so no stuffing around with prying out those indexes.

For getting the nut off while the wheel is off the ground i've always had someone press on the brakes hard while I undid the nut.

Dammit; last axle I pulled was on a Honduh... that's what I was thinking of. Sorry for the bad info.

My god...I hate RUST!!!!!!

What a PITA to get this friggin thing off. I had to chisel the damn thin off the spindle, since the ABS was rusted and couldn't get the assembly further than 2 ft from the car.
