have 2500 now, excellent street pad. hawk hp+ also good (better initial bite) but loud as ****, and lost of radioactove dust. hps is nonsense.
ebc: had greenstuff once, never again, bad fade, ate rotors, maybe bad batch but this is imho.
one thing about hawk: they tend not to have the pad backing cut rithg,. so they tend ot cause fitment problems. what i do: order THREE stes form tire rack, mix and match the pads, return the unused ones back for full credit. tire rack gets my props for this: i always tell them what i am gonna do, and they are cool with it.

Well I installed the Ferodo DS2500's on my Evo last night along with flushing out the stock brake fluid for some ATE SuperBlue. After bedding them in last night, the car brakes very hard and there was no fade after many repeated high speed stops.
Awesome pads. Thanks for all the replies.

I've been using the Hawks for about 2k miles now and they have never made any noise at all and feel good. I've heard the 2500s don't have as much of a stock feel as the Hawks and bite much sooner. After all I've read and researched, I'm going to try the 2500s next time, but I've been happy with the Hawks. Glad I didn't get the noisy ones everyone keeps talking about

About the only semi-negative thing I could say about the DS2500's is when it's raining and the brakes were cold I could tell a good bit of a difference in initial bite vs. stock. Once they had a little heat back in them though they were great.
Very good all around pad.

Yep, very very good
Jumped on this forum to post about EBC Yellow's (see my post in the forum), and did some research while I was at it.
Ferodo DS 2500's are the best "compromise" pad I've run.
So far, my experience is over 3 EVO's (2003, 2005 MR, and 2006 MR), and stock, EBC Yellow's, Carbotech Bobcat, Carbotech Panther, Hawk HP+, Ferodo DS 2500, and Ferodo DS 3000's. I've installed and driven all of them. I have a set of Satisfied Grand Sport ceramics waiting for when I take my DS 3000's off (I have a track weekend next weekend).
I drive spirited on the street, and track regularly at VIR in virginia.
So far, the DS 2500's are the best compromise of both street and track. They are a little noisy for the street, though, and their cold and wet bite is slower than the stock pads. I didn't keep them on for regular driving, but enjoyed them greatly on the track, and they were quite durable.
The best "street only" pad I've driven is the Carbotech Bobcat, but totally unsuitable for the track (gone in one weekend).
Stock is okay, but fades bad after repeated braking, hawks are okay, but noisy, and a little rough on the rotors. EBC's are terrible for both street and track. See my other post.
