For those into putting 15" wheels......

I ordered up the AMS/Willwood small front brake kit today and picked up some 15" Rota Slipstreams.

Went w/ the same size set-up as Emery@STM 15x7.5 +40 offset.

Thought i'd just post pics of what the rear looked like w/o the tires mounted up and w/o any spacers.

I'll update once i get the brakes in and the entire package.

Here's the clearance from susp.

Why would you do that? I think I would have ran the motorcycle slicks on lightweight 17s and kept the better brakes and appearance.

I thought hard about doing that but didn't feel comfortable running them on the stock 17x8 wheel when the slick is only 7" wide

I know the PR guys love the way they work but i didn't want to have to buy another set of 17x7" wheels.....so i decided to bite the bullet and go w/ a small front brake kit to allow for diff wheel tire combos in the future or go back to stock.

When it comes to appearance i think this LOOKS better.......

....then this does (no knock towards the pr guys just my opinion as they are proven to produce good 60's)

I agree it looks better but at a significant cost.

if you spent that kind of money just to be able to run 15s, why did you get rota slipstreams.. their cheap, and their cheap.. i would never want a high HP on slips... get some freaking centerlines or something built for draging .

alot of hondas use these http://centerlinewheels.com/wheels_d...d=34&sw_id=678, and they look sweeet IMO, and wont fall apart like a rota wheel under such high stress (no offence to rota) not to mention you can get something MUCH wider than 7"

Going with the smaller wheel and brake kit has alot more benefits when it comes to drag racing.

Alot less rotating mass.

i really want to get the small brake kit and some 15's. I would be interested in knowing what wheel/spacer/tire combo (please list spec's) everyone is running. i like the rotas and motegi but im not 100% sure on what offset/size to get, or what kind/size spacers are needed. thanks in advance to any info.

which brake kit did you get?

apparently AMS has a second, "rally" spec kit which probably is better in terms of stopping power than the drag kit and still can use 15s...

All depends on what you are looking for.

I'm sure the rally kit would do just fine but may weigh a bit more.

I may be selling my set-up to one of our local customers after i get another crack at a 9sec pass in the upcoming weeks so if it falls through keep your eye out for the "for sale" thread

Figure on spending approx $2000 if everything is bought at basically full price.
