I dont drive my car on any type of racetrack

Never will.

The car gets put away in November and then comes back out in March.

My Ford Ranger gets driven all winter.

The stock Advans are great tires but IMO overpriced. You can get comparable tires for much less. Among the popular ones:

Bridgestone RE-01R
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1
Falken Azenis RT-615

I run the Bridgestones and am happy with the dry grip and wet performance.

Go with stockers. I got 5k miles or something and corded mine, so I went with something cheaper and I regret it. But since yours are wearing so well, just get another set and enjoy them.

Your car is probably 2 years old (IX MR -> last imports were 2006 i think) and has 10k, so another year before you hit 15k when you will replace them (guessing based off your statements). At $1200 per set that is $400 per year on tires. That is not too bad.

I think I will try the direzza's. The reviews seem really good and this will save money for camshafts.

Direzza Z1 Star Spec is what you need. Vassage got it backwards it seems - they are actually great in wet compared to others in its class...certainly better than the stockers. Please read the multiple Z1 Star Spec threads that I and others have posted.

It's a shame you don't race it and never intend to, because that's what it's built for. It also can do great in the Winter. I drive mine 365 days a year living in Colorado above 6000', and I race it relentlessly. I think you're short-changing yourself and your Evo.

I bought an evo because I hate big motors and I love fast cars. This is my first piston engine in a car, as all of my engines have been 1.3 Litres, with zero cylinders. It's not impressive at all to me for someone to just add more displacement for more power, big deal, that dosent take much technology.

I am way to careful with the car to take it to any track. I love to mess with V8's.

I'm confused by this whole post. If you're not impressed with displacement and love to mess with V8s, then why do you never race it? Not ever taking it to a track is the OPPOSITE of being "careful." If all you ever do is floor it in a straight line in public on highways, then there are MUCH better cars out there (including rotaries) for doing that.

Contrarily, passing Z06s like they're standing still is legal, safe, and fully utilizes every advantage the Evo has:
