Vrdestein Ultrac Sessanta anyone???

Anyone have any experience with them? Have heard they were great and thanks to the human stains that comprise Discount Tire I need replacements for my BFG KDW2's.

Here's their site with some info on the tire:

My question is can any of our Vendors get them? I have found them for $634 shipped for a full set of them in 255/40/17 so that's the price to beat. As usual I'd prefer to keep business within the community but can't seem to find these amongst any of our vendors...

I've never heard of them. Are they supposed to compete with RE01Rs, Dunlop Star Specs, etc??? Or are they like FK-452s (luxury UHPs)?

Added this from their website...

The Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta is the newest ace in the Ultra High Performance (UHP) segment. The Sessanta is based on the strong points of the Ultrac series and has been optimised even further to give very good steering and handling characteristics. Giugiaro Design has given the Ultrac Sessanta an innovative design, with a line pattern that clearly shows that performance comes first. The name Sessanta refers to the sixty years of Vredestein's existence in Enschede. In tribute to Vredestein's unique collaborative partnership with Giugiaro Design, "sixty" will be written in Italian: sessanta.

Parametric design - from the drawing board to the shelf
The Ultrac Sessanta is designed parametrically. This means that the tread construction, shape and contours are optimised for every size using mathematical formulae based on design parameters. Each size of the Ultrac Sessanta therefore offers maximum design quality.

i've got a friend with an M3 that swears by these tires. after riding in his car i noticed that they have good grip and there is hardly any road noise.

Just ordered mine from a place in the same state. Only ones who would just drop ship from the manufacturer instead of giving me hassle about limited availability in my desired size. Tax and shipping came to $681.97.

Friend just put them on his z06 and loves them. I drove them on the track and they were great for a street tire especially for the $$$

Don't think these are so much the ones you're thinking of jjm4life. They are marketed as an ultra high performance tire with many things other than just summer needs in mind. They do however make several different winter specific tires. I've read reviews now by everyone from rsx guys, to m3,c5, c6, z06, to supra owners praising this one.

Gotta say, after running two sets of kdw2's for about 4 years now I'm ready for a change from this heavy, loud rubber.

Have you considered the Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec? $624 plus freight ($50?) from TireRack and they rock!

Ok so I'm getting ready for work and have little time. The only thing I can say right now is that I haven't smiled this much since the stock Advan A046's were on the car No exaggeration guys, these tires just don't stop. Sidwalls have no give, ride comfort is better than anything I've experienced, and they are SILENT on every road condition and speed I've put them through.
