why no 17x9 wheels for the EVO ??

they got 17x8 and 18x9, but no one has 17x9 wheels that would fit an EVO. Is this just an odd size or something for imports - or are they just trying to stick with the original 235 size of the tire by doing that??

I'd kinda like to find a 17x9 wheel so I could fit a bunch of freebie 275/40r17 Kuhmo competition tires (intended for the Fbody) to my EVO... they would only be 0.3 inches taller than stock if I could find some wheels to mount them too. Those are some of the very best tires you can put on an Fbody, they should be at least decent on an EVO and being free the cost is kinda hard to beat!!

You'd probably be rubbing like crazy even with a huge offset.

yep, they fit fine with a 3mm spacer on the fronts to clear the caliper. The 255/40 tires are about 1/4" away from the strut at the base of the spring. The rubber looks damn intimidating from the back... poor Mustang GTs develop impotence when they see larger tires with all wheel drive... heh

Fender clearance is very similiar to stock, and nope, I am not lowered yet. Plan to get some springs soon as H&R come into the US, but they shouldn't create a problem. The RPM2s move more inboard than anything, with maybe 1/4" wider outside.

Someone bought Volk CE28N 17x9 from me and I haven't heard anything. Mackin (Volk USA) said it would be just fine with 40 series tires !

Can you still get another set? Are they in stock? Need 17" Rims but dont want to wait 90+ days just to have them shipped from Japan. My car is in the body shop right now just waiting for rims. Stock ones got shattered in an accident.
