Baer Eradispeed Rotors for the Evo
Neal.. can you check to see what EradiSpeed+ rotors fit The evo 8 (front and rear) and post it here? A lot of folks are considering new rotors, yet few vendors are stepping up to the plate!
http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/brake...++2pc+Rotor+Pr
EradiSpeed+ (e rad’ i speed plus) versions are still direct OEM replacement units, but the “plus” indicates rotors that are of a 2-piece, fixed design, which results in a reduction in total hub/rotor weight. The center “hat” or “hub/hat” portion of EradiSpeed+ rotors are CNC machined from billet or forged aluminum. The centers are then anodized black to finish the racing “look” and are bolted to the rotors with National Aerospace Standard (NAS) stainless, reusable fasteners, the same hardware used to affix the rotors to an Indy Car.
Each vented rotor is a unique casting which employs either a directional curved vane or the patented Kangaroo port design. All benefit from additional mass in the “firepath,” as well as a proprietary, high-friction iron formulation.
Each EradiSpeed rotor is also cross-drilled and slotted. Functional benefits of cross-drilling and slotting include:
Virtual elimination of “green-pad-fade” or “outgassing” which is caused when gasses emitted from the bonding agents within the brake pad material reach elevated temperatures
More aggressive initial onset or “bite”
Elimination of pad glazing
Improved contact surface because of equalized pad surface wear
Better wet weather performance
EradiSpeed rotors are then zinc-plated or “washed.” And while this rust-resistant finish wears off of the “firepath” during the first 300-400 miles of normal street driving, it remains to protect the rotor surfaces not swept by the pad.
EradiSpeed+ (PLUS) Direct Replacement 2-piece Rotor Benefits:
No change in wheels is ever required
Dramatically reduced weight
Increased heat absorption
Faster thermal recovery
High resistance to stress cracking
Increased friction, low wear, from proprietary iron specification
Greater airflow efficiency through curved vane or Kangaroo™ port design
Location of holes directly behind vane structure to arrest and limit migration of stress fractures from crossdrilling
Elimination of outgassing
Greater bite or initial onset of friction
Equalized pad surface wear
Improved wet weather performance
Brilliant rust resistant surfaces
Dynamic visual impact
Limited Lifetime Warranty Against Warping

i'd hop on those in a heart beat if they become available...
i emailed Baer several times on it, and they keep telling me they have no applications for the EVO...
but something was supposed to be worked on...
this is a copy of an email from them...
Hey Cory,
Check with Pruven Performance, we are working in conjunction with them on a rotor program that will be available shortly.
Ask for Dan 203-874-0393
Thanks!

These rotors are really awesome, they are the top of the brake rotor food chain. I am also waiting for an application on my Dodge Charger, but they wont be out till middle of next year

i got another email from Rick Elam @ Baer, and he claims that Pruven has the first sets already...?
I'm gonna call them today and see what the **** the deal is...
edit..
well, i just got off the phone with Pruven... they said they are getting 25 kits, that should be shipping to them by the end of this week, and they should have them ready the end of the following week...
12 red, 12 black and if you buy both front and rear you get the free brake lines...
cool deal... now what should i do when Mitsu calls me that they have my OEM replacements...? should i take them and then just have the new ones installed later, or should i not bother with the OEMs and aske the dealer to just install the new ones when i get them...?
Pruven said that Baer is custom making these kits for them...
