road racing wheel+tire size setup

wanted to see what people are using for road racing, i was thinking of running rpf1's 17x9 with dunlop z1 starspecs possibly 255/40/17. but what wheel size, tire size and offset are you guys running on? you guys ever run staggered?

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
Do not stagger.

Will this be a road racing only tire? Whats your budget for tires? Just a fun track day car or serious put it too them car? Current suspension mods?

Is this for a timed event or track days? Meaning, is this for driver's education or time attack/time trials?

If it's just for track days....start with stock sized tires and learn how to drive. Or at least stick with something reasonable (not 295 r-comps on 12 inch wide steamrollers). Saves money on brakes, saves money on tires, and you'll be a better driver in the end. Step the size/compound up slowly when you're ready.

Yeah i know....that's not the "cool" answer.

+1. I ran this exact setup last year with good results. Bolts run on, no rubbing or spacers needed!
