What size Hypercoil Springs for Autox?

Hey guys - broke college kid looking for a quick fix

I'd love to do a set of full coilovers but I don't have the money, so I think I'm going to do a set of springs just to hold me over till I get that high-coin nursing job. I've heard that Hypercoil springs are the best, but I don't know what size I would need to get on my stock MR Bilsteins. I do understand that I need to be careful about drop exceeding 1" due to roll center issues (which I cannot fix with the roll center kit running in BSP).

Also, would it be problematic to go to a much harder spring? I autox alot and I lift my inside rear wheel alot. I tried to fix this through braking earlier so I wasn't trail braking, and this helped some, but I feel like my corner speeds could be higher if my inside wheels were in better contact with the tarmac. Would 400# rear/375# be unbalanced or too much?

Does anyone have any good ideas that I'm not thinking of?

I'm running BSP and my car weighs in around 3200#s empty.

Hypercoil (Eibach, Swift, etc) sells specific sized springs for use in coilover shocks. Typically they are 2.25" ID or 2.5"ID and only fit dampers built to accept that. You can't run them on the OEM dampers (bilstein or KYB). Your only choice is to use aftermarket lowering springs.

You'll probably have 30-odd people tell you that swift is the greatest.

Hypercoil only makes coil-over springs, not struts springs (lowering type).

Check out the Swift Spec R springs. And getting a set of sway bars.
Swift Spec R's: 157-358 lb/in (6.4k final), 196-380 lb/in (6.8k final) (153-380 for MR). -1.4 in, -0.8 in drop.

I run this setup for AXing (SM) and HPDE's.

Here we go, mister Swift Springs spokesmodel here^^^^^^^^ j/k, Mike knows his stuff and some others too. But as mentioned, Hypercoil only produces springs for use on Coil-overs, not strut/spring type set-ups. Swifts, GTWorx, Hotchkiss, and others make very good springs that are competition worthy, just for hindsight stay away from Teins.

they also make them in 60 MM ID (hypercoils). I bought some from GTWORX to replace the front springs on my KW V3's (from around 9KG/mm -> 8 KG/mm).

bummer.

I was looking forward to some sweet hypercoils. Oh well. Are the Swift Spec Rs worth anything on the autox course? I like the stock suspention, but it just seems too soft for my liking. I prefer cr*pping my kidneys going over train tracks to driving my car like it was a bass boat through the corners. I'm wary of the Swifts though, because the stock suspention is so good - I don't want to find out I made a $500 whoopsie.

Yes - they are worth it. And they are not $500.

I ran and won on the Sports (not as stiff as the Spec R's) last season on Z1 tires.

I will be running V710s this season with the Spec R's.

BSP is a tough class to compete in if you're broke!
