hey so i put these hotchkis springs in my evo 9 mr and the front springs click when i turn the steering wheel... in the instructions there wasnt any specific way to install them (maybe upside down??) there was like a green paint mark on the tip of one side of the spring... if anyone has had these or kno anyone whos installed them if they could give me some advice as to what i should do... thanks

 

Sounds like you did not align two holes (one on the top perch to the low in the lower perch).

Plus you have to make sure the rubber mounts are aligned right.

 

Did you over tighten the top-hat bolt?

 

i had the same thing when i put mine in. it would pop when the wheel was turned all the way. i never got time to find out what it was cause the noise went away

 

is there a special torque spec for that top hat bolt?

 

I too just installed Hotchkis springs but on my 03. Mine don't make any noise when turning the wheel. I wasn't sure as to which way the front springs went, I installed them so the the Hotchkis name (midway on the front springs) is upside down. There was also a red mark at the end of the springs and that I installed facing up. Hope it helps and good luck.
