5mm spacers, stock studs

will 5mm spacers work with stock evo 8 wheel studs? if not, what is the smaller spacer that will work with stock studs? Thanks.

Yes you will be fine. Use to run mine until I needed 10mm space then had to do extended studs.

How many turns do you get by hand until the lugnut stops turning?

make sure they make at least 6 full turns before finger tight, otherwise, theyll run the risk of snapping.

I usually shoot for more like 1D (D=diameter of the stud) minimum thread engagement on studs. Since this is a 12mm stud that equates to 8 turns (1.5 pitch).

Post up some pictures when you get them on the car if you don't mind.

Im talking just driving around on the streets. Im right there with you though, I had 6.5 turns on mine and got lengthened studs so I could pull off 8 min for auto-x and track days.

I ran 1/4" (6.35mm) spacers on my stock BBS wheels when autocrossing for a season and never had a problem, I suppose its possible that the BBS wheels are thinner in the bolt hole area but I doubt it would be much. I forget how many turns I got on the lugs but I think I stopped counting at 10.

I was looking at using 3/8" spacers, but I was going to buy some studs.

Only got about 4.5 turns before they were finger tight. seem fine so far on the street. don't know if id trust them at an autocross. I bought my spacer from ebay. under $20 shipped for the pair.
