Should work okay. I'm running BFG KDW's in the 255/35/18 size on an 18x9+35 RE30. I see that the stock Evo X wheel is 18x8.5 +38

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention...the Direzzas get super loud as they age! My wife has 'em on her RX-8.

265-35-18 has a Overall Diameter of approx. 25.30
245-45-17 has a Overall Diameter of approx. 25.68

Pretty much the same O.D.

Formual to calculate is... (Cross Section / 25.4*) x (Aspect Ratio/100) x 2 + Rim Height

I was never good with math or equations, but here's a good tire calculator to bookmark that seems to work fine..

http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

Also, seriously consider putting a fender roller to work.

Not recommended, as 265's need at least a 9" wheel, and you're only pushing 8.5"

It has a tire height of 25.3", as opposed to 255's at 25.02", but 265's just will looks funny, bulging out

I run 255/35 18 Dunlop * Specs on 18x9 +29 with Swift Sports and have zero rubbing issues. I would not recommend running a 265 on that wheel either. Plus a 255/35 is closest to the overall stock diameter.
