Brakes squeaking badly!

I'm having the same problem. Except I did not change my rotors. Its been about 2 weeks since I've had them installed. It happens mostly after they warm up and when I apply the brakes lightly to come to a slow stop at low speed the brakes SCREAM not squeek and it does not seem to be getting any better.

Sorry to revive this thread some what, but your all asking if he bedded his pads, but not telling him what to do if he did not.
Is it too late to bed the pads after they have been driven on a little bit?
I'm asking because my idiot dad decided to do my cars brake's while I was gone since he thinks I can't do work on my car because hes more "experienced". Finished up, felt the need to go drive around on them and when i asked him if he followed the bedding procedures he just gives me a blank stare and asks, "whats bedding?"...

it sounds crazy, but throw your car in reverse and drive with the brakes on slightly. My new hawks were doing that and someone told me to do that. I did it a couple times and they didnt squeak as much going forward and within a couple days they didnt make noise.

There are two methods that I know of for bedding your brakes. I do the first one
a) No hard braking for 150-200 miles. Every stop you come up to you ride the brakes lightly to come to a gentle stop (that is unless you need to stop quickly).
b) No hard braking for 50-100 miles. Then you find a long empty stretch and do this routine. Get up to 20mph, slam on brakes. Get up to 30mph, slap on brakes. Get up to you 40... you get the idea... up to about 60 or 70.
Bedding your brakes makes sure they grind into your rotors appropriately and makes sure not to bluegroove your new rotors.
Good luck
EDIT: forgot one thing.... Do not engage the parking brake until after this cooling process is compete.

I installed some WORKS Blue pads about two weeks ago. Reused the stock shims and stock rotors (rotors still have some life in them). Greased the heck out of everything except the pad surface itself. Drove the car around a bit that day to get the initial break-in going, and then later that night I did the 8-10 repetitions of "get to 60mph, brake hard but don't engage ABS, get down to 10mph, speed back up to 60mph and repeat". AFter that the brakes were as quiet as can be.
So I took a road trip this past weekend and me and some buddies were bombing around on some isolated back roads just for fun. Had a few instances of heavy braking but never locked them up. Since I returned from the road trip the brakes have been squeaking like crazy when rolling up to a stop sign with slight pedal application. I only did one bedding procedure. Should I go out and do it again?
