my advans only lasted 7000 miles and definitely would not get them for daily driving. ive ran pirelli p zero nero's for the last 2 years along with my brother running the same tires (not the same set) on his sti for almost 5 years. great for daily driving, not bad to autox on, and they are pretty quiet on the highway. i got a set of hawk hps pads for $120 and they stop better than the brembo pads when i had them and would highly recommend them

$410 is outrageous! You can get them for around $80 online. They may not be brembo, but they are just as good.

Brembo is like name brand clothing, there is no reason to pay more for the same thing.

For the street, nothing is quite as good as the OEM pad for the street. But, you can come pretty close and save money. Go too aggressive and you won't be happy with the noise the brakes make. Go into the higher temperature ranges and the brakes won't do much until heated.

As for tires, go extreme performance and get a tire that wears out fast. Go with less agressive tires and find the steering numb.

It is all about choices. That, and how deep your pockets are.

Not quite true, there are better pads.

And its all about it.

But there are pads that have more bite for less than the OE's.

For reference: Satisfied GranSport GS5's (what I run), can be had from THMotorsports (one of our vendors) for $120 shipped for the fronts.

See that list I put together and price some out.

Check out Ferodo DS 2500 brake pads. Very common and popular with this crowd. For tires check out the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec. IMO one of best replacements for stock tires out especially considering the price.
