steering wheel vibrates when braking/slowing down

cant seem to figure this out. my steering wheel vibrates when i brake so i thought it was the rotors. i ordered new rotors from rotorpros and it still vibrates while i was doing the proper break in. i did not do any heavy braking at all. my wheels are balanced, it doesnt vibrate at high speed. it is perfectly smooth from 1 mph to 100 mph. it only vibrates when i brake. it makes no noises at all. the brake pads i am currently using are the project mu type-ns. i also have the oem shims on there.

i have rota p45r 18x9.5 with custom 6mm hubcentric spacers. however i do not have extended wheel studs and right now i am using some cheapo lugnuts supplied by wheeldude.com. do you think extended studs and quality lugnuts will do the trick?

any other idea?

Did you put in new pads in as well???
Try torquing the lug nuts to 75ft lbs of torque that is the requirement.

the rotors could be warped, have you felt them to see if they're still smooth?

It's very hard to warp rotors on our cars...

Have you changed pads recently. I've felt this when not braking in pads correctly. Moreso, I've had a chunk of debrie get stuck on my pad or rotor before. Either way, it's the same fix. Go out and slam on the brakes! Seriously. Start from a low speed like 20mph and brake down to a roll - hard. Then do from 30mph etc. Same process as bedding in pads really.

I have the same problem with my car. My car is currently being serviced, I got new rotors and pads going in. But this is what my mechanic said in an email update:

"Brakes are done, they were very rusty, I spent alot of time cleaning brake parts so they don't pulsate anymore."

I don't know what parts he was talking about but rust could be the problem.

its very rarely due to a warped rotor, most of the time the wheel will shake if theres too much dust trapped in the rotor or if there is an uneven surface on the pads, check those first before anything else.
