As we can see everyone has had an opinion. I've broke a Rota; you've bent a 5Zigen, heard of problems with SSR (aka super soft rims) as well. Cast rims ust aren't as strong and that's exactly where my Rota broke. There's bad batches when you don't pay for forged.
nope, that's a pic of the 17x9.5.. It's directly from a FS thread, by the seller.

anyway, we'll see what happens.. At this point, it's looking like the works are the best choice.. They have a great track record -- although, they're on the heavier side, but I took my wing off and have an aluminum roof, so it's all good

You're right; my bad. Did my research and the 17x9.5" +38mm are curved out where the 18x9.5 +27mm are curved in - due to the offset difference on th NT03+M's.

Work & Advan make a solid product. The Work CR's were popular awhile back and are < $1500 I believe.

Yeah... the nt03+m in the 18x9.5 +27 is one of the sickest looking/performing wheels, but this high offset version really makes them look awful IMO.

I was quoted $1428 with hubcentric rings, lug nuts, and valve stems for the cr kai's in 17x9 +28 matte grey. and another $20 for 5mm spacers. Sounds good to me.

I think I'll go with the rt615's in 255/40 -- they seem to be the best performers for the money. I can't afford the direzza's, and I've always had the ecsta mx's, so i'll try something new.

I've run Advan RZ 17x9+35 and lowered on swift springs with zero problems.

I run the NT03 17x9.5 (with 275s) and only needed to slightly roll the rear fenders...

I believe you are kidding, but just in case....Increasing your rotational weight will significantly reduce your performance (slower acceleration & slower braking) and will work your suspension harder...

I've been looking at those DPT's myself. I've also run other Rota wheels with R-compounds and never had an issue with them. At any given lapping day I see many cars with Rota's.

Here is a shot of my Rota Tarmac III's with Nitto NT-01 tires.

yeah, i was being sarcastic.. but like i said, for a daily driver, summer setup that will see some rough roads, I don't mind a bit of extra weight, because along with that weight comes extra tire.
But there are a few lighter choices, so I'll look into it a bit more.
