can the brembo calipers be rebuilt?

i stripped the bleeder screw and the thread for the bleeder on the rear left caliper is stripped as well. i was wondering if i can send it to a machine shop and have them rebuild it? what do they actually do to fix it?

Yes they can be rebuilt.

Here is a good thread showing it from my home state:

Brembos

You can do it yourself. Just take the calpier off clean it like crazy. Drain out the brake fluid and then find the right size tap and retap the threads. I did it when I took mine off and powdercoated them. I also put all new orings and dust boots. It is really easy.

Also Girodisc sales the orings and dust boots if you need them.

??????? next size bleeder screw???? was it the same size/taper conical seat?

this could get problematic, because just past the threads there's a conical seat where the screw seals.

with the common insert thread repair you have to drill and tap to the next larger size, the drill and tap can run into the conical seat, pretty difficult if not impossible.

mine has the same problem, i also messed up the bridge pipe that goes around on both ends of the caliper to transfer brake fluid. i still have to extract the piece and have to retap it. i'm afraid that by doing this the new bridge pipe piece might leak and not seat right because the conical seat. so i do have few problems. i still sourcing out the brembo tube line and lastly taking out the fitting. i hope for the best my machinist can extract the broken piece, news retapping and making new thread. any info where i can locate the oem tubing pipe for the caliper, please pm me.
