using rs3's im glad i sacked up and did the 9.5's as the 255's are really almost a 265...so its definitely helping my sidewalls. i dont need crazy cold tire pressures.

I ran some 17x9.5 +38's with 20mm spacer in the front for a little more than half of the autox season this year. I had put some 245/40/17 RS3's on the stock BBS wheels and had nothing but issues with the sidewalls. On the RPF1s I've had no issues at all. Lowered slightly in the front on PSS9's running -2.5 camber -1.5 in the rear. Great fit, and damn aggressive looking too.

Without any rubbing? With RPF1 17x9.5 +38 and 245/40/17 Star Specs I was occasionally rubbing in the rear until I went past -1.8 degrees of camber, so I'm not sure how you're getting away with an extra 20mm of offset. Are your fenders rolled? And what size tires are you using? What spring rates?

car looks nice, but just my humble opinion...the rears are just way too far out. plus you have to keep in mind that for a track oriented set up, having the front wider than the rear is better.

for comparo heres mine. +38 with spacer in front. (just realized i dont have any decent up close non moving shots)

i ran the +38's with 255 rs3's (almost true 265) at -1.5 in the rear through a track day at lime rock (steep up hill at speed), on softish gtworx springs and didnt rub once. the front rubbed on me once when i hit a giant frost heave on an off ramp but thats it. i did wind up rolling the rears just for future use/plan of going up into the 275 range tire.

i am currently on Tien S tech springs with a slight roll in the rear i am running 245/40/17 tires on them. the only time the car has rubbed was when the car was packed with 4 people in the back seat and suitcases in the trunk going down a drive way but during the drive the car didnt rub at all.

...you mean i shouldnt have 16's in the front and 17's in the rear???

i think its messing with your eyes because the fronts are turned...plus it was shot through a very large zoom lens.

I'm simply waiting to get the alignment done before I autox with them as I'm sure they will rub as it stands now. Good to see that people aren't having major issues with this setup.
I know its old thread, but did u even try to put 275/40 on that bad boy? wonder what do I need to make this fit?

BTW what happen to EE.org where everyone go?

you definitely have to start look at putting a small spacer on the rear...i have a tiny bit of control arm polishing.

just found this thread via search. any updates? i'd like to run a 275 tire on my 17x9.5 +38 RPFs. i currently get a bit of rear, lower control arm rub from the wheels.. i imagine the tire will rub for sure. i have my rear fenders rolled but not pulled. fronts have enough fender gap that i'm not worried. running KW coilovers and 20mm spacers up front, so guessing i have plenty of room there.
