Since I made my last post, I bought another used Evo, with Tanabe GF210's already installed.

I think these are just as bad as the Tien's. First of all, the car is raked like a mother ****er. For instance, my dad has a 100% bone stock VIII MR. I measure the ground clearence for the ground to the fender. His MR F=27" R=26" My VIII GSR (with facotry GSR KYB's) GF210's F=25" R=25.75".

Needless to say, the rear is barley any lower. I'm not blaming the shocks like most people on here, but I'm blaming Tanabe for making such a ****ty set of lowering springs. I've driven my Evo, that has 17x8.5 RPF1's with 255/40 Z1* and my Dad's car, bone stock suspension with ****ty Perreli's, and I'm much more confident in my dad's Evo. What does that say, that even 255/40 Z1* can't even make up the confiedence that the Tanabe's take away.

As far as which car is faster through a corner, I'm certain mine would be, but it's also more nervous feeling and has MORE body roll than stock. It's still an Evo, and still handles better than 95% of anything on the road, but to be slightly worse than stock? That's unacceptable.

My old Evo had Swifts and I swear those are hands down the best available. It was amazing and inspired SO much confidence, I felt like I could take on any corner thrown at me in my old Evo. I have not used WORKS, or RobiSpec, but I'm sure they're good too. But my experience with Swift is a very good one.

Conclusion... Tanabe's suck. The second I can afford to get new springs, or even coil-overs, I'm tossing these things in the garbage.

Bump the old thread.

Op, did springs change at all after while? My buddy gsr&tanbe sits way lower than mine, about no gap or 1 finger. mine is pretty same as swift springs that i had. Lolz.

The tanabe drop the car a little too low in the front and not far enough in the rear.Plus the rates are not very good although they are better than the crappy Teins. IIRC 250-260 lbs They are a little too soft and you may risk front strut internal valve damage.

They would need to be much stiffer ( read 350 lb front ) and/ or not drop so far.

See GTWorX lowering springs ( 0.5 inch drop 300 lb )

Swift Spec-r fronts 348 1.3 drop

If i was building custom springs for the Bilsteins I would go 1" drop and 330 lbs front 0.6 drop 370 lbs rear
