that was a hard hit.. To cut the hard sidewall .. nasty I say...racing items are not tough items, they have to give to keep the suspension intact and thus the bent wheel.. and keep air inside for you to be safe. other wheels collapse on impact ..

but over priced I agree....

Actually I never "hit hard" running with the volks. I didn't really push to the curbing too much, on the other hand on the stock wheels I bounced off the curbing deliberately and not an incident at all. Bad timing, bad luck, bad wheel, any one of these or a combination of three. Who knows. UGH!
