I was thinking better=better acceleration. You're thinking better=higher top speed. I suppose it depends on the course.

Also, I was the guy in the Black MR at the MSU event a couple weeks back. It was good to meet you (even if it was brief).

Here's a link to a great wheel/tire size calculator: Here
That's cuz you live in MI Here in Orlando, with our top drivers running the Dunlops, it was rare to see us hit our fastest lap on the last lap. Even when I would stay for 'fun runs' after the event, the tires just got too hot for me to beat my competition times...at least in the summer months, which is almost year round

True. "Summer" for us is a 2 week period at the end of July.

I've done 2 track days in my Evo, and I used Hankook RS-2s in size 245-45-17s. They don't get greasy until the end of the session, but still have good grip. I'm using DS2500s with Motul RBF600 fluid and Works lines, and I still get some fade with hard, late braking. If I brake early, the pads are fine, but I'm used to braking late with my other car, and that caused a few pucker moments. For a car that is mostly street with some autocross, the DS2500s are fine. The lines really firm the pedal up though. I the first track day with stock everything, and it was scary.

I really do not recommend running the DS2500s on the track. The MOT is 1000F, and as you saw, pretty easy to overheat/fade after some hot laps.

I would say ET800s would be great for street or maybe stick with the ET700s. They are just a little noisy, but that doesn't bother me at all. I don't think the ET800s are great for the track. I ate through them with 4 track days.

How long does it take to heat up the ET800s? Is it quick enough to do an autocross with (where pads need to heat up within a couple hard braking turns)?

They grab pretty hard right out of the bag. I had to be pretty firm on the pedal pressure though.

Have you used the ET500? I'm using that now and am wondering how they bite initially, compared to those. I need an upgrade.

I ran the ET500s when they first came out. I did not like them. Lots of pad transfer. RB's customer service was less than great. So I went back to GS5s.

I'm afraid I have only used the ET800s. I have heard good things about the ET700s though.

As far as customer service, I have always purchased through MAPerformance and not had any issues.
