Cusco Front Power Brace on Non-Special ETS I/C??

So I have the 24 x 11.5 x 3.5'' ETS normal intercooler (not the special power brace one). I'm currently under the assumption that the Cusco power brace will NOT fit. However, after some searching, I saw this thread with an Evo that has the Cusco power brace and an AGP intercooler. I looked up the specs on the AGP intercooler and they were 24 x 12 x 3.5''...the AGP is actually .5'' taller than the ETS is. So if it doesn't fit on the ETS, how is it fitting on the larger AGP??

Pics for reference...

Thanks in advance

the dude probably cut and modified his cusco brace to make it fit with the intercooler.

How hard is that? Just cut and reweld or something? Wouldn't that compromise the integrity of the brace?

No idea how hard since I never did it. Of course it compromises the integrity of the brace but lets be real this brace is mostly for show. I only have it since I got it as a gift but do I feel any difference with it on? nope and just an fyi, the brace will work fine with the ams fmic.

I doubt it will fit that one. The only ones I know for sure are the ams fmic and ets 3" I think.

It won't fit on the non cusco version. I think the guy modified his cusco bar.

Thanks!

True about the show thing...

I heard it doesn't even fit the 3'' ETS model. The reason being that it's just too wide. It seems thickness and height isn't the problem but rather width. I'll see if anybody else can chime in on this...

i stand corrected. Definitely the width is the problem. The ams is actually 3.6" thick or something like that but its short in width compared to the others so the brace barely fits with the ams.

We can build a narrow version that fits using a 20" core. The thickness is 3.0" or 3.5"

Thanks!

Ok well I already have the 3.5'' standard so how would I go about modifying the front brace to get it to fit? Anybody in fabrication have any ideas?

Thanks
