Shimless with anti-seize... waiting for the Girodisc shims to arrive in the mail. Street driving (but not DD) so I can't comment on how ET700's behave on the track. I'll find out on spring though.

I like what I'm hearing here rush... You would recommend these without hesitation? I def want more initial bite than I have now with the HPS, these things hardly have any.

More direct/solid pedal feel since there is nothing between the piston and the pad. Also less unsprung weight. If I ever get some free time and want to dink around I'll probably remove my shims since I did prefer the no-shim feel.

ive heard great things about the Gransport GS5s/GS6 pads....

id rather run the GS5 pads...but definately not as easy to find. Or im just not looking hard enough haha!

I have run carbotech 12's, 10's and 8's

Dont even think about running 12's and 10's on the street. 8's are very good and but still squeal and make lots of dust!

i have the gs6 pads and and they are hard to find. i could only find the GS6. they are pretty good. i did the hole bedding in process and they are still in break in time lol. i like them so far. i think i'll remove the shims tomorrow since i do want a harder pedal feel. plus i'm looking into break lines too.

LOL yeah I know its not much at all, but you know how some people get about saving every last possible ounce The more direct pedal feel is the largest difference though, and even that is probably something that most would never notice (I do just b/c I've tried with and without shims back-to-back).

With respect to initial bite and braking from highway speed (80,90,100-25), yes. But I have yet to find out how it behaves on the track. I have no first hand experience with HPS. After some researching, I finally decided to go with ET700 and I'm happy with my decision so far. Smikevo's thread helped me make that decision. My criteria in choosing the brake was very simple:

1. Great initial bite (initial operating temp of a street pad)
2. Grabs better than OEM.
3. High MOT (MOT of a street tire track pad)
4. I don't care if I get 1 pound of brake dust every 100 miles or as noisy as VTA BOV

Now I think purchasing a set of shims is a wrong decision on my part Do shims really help lessen heat transfer from rotors and pads to caliper, pistons and brake fluid? The reason I decided to get the shims is to fight heat transfer.

^^i doubt you would notice any sort of significant difference in heat transfer...esp if u just daily drive ur car for the most part. ^^

i DD mine and autocross. no shims...no issues. same fluid and my calipers are still pretty red. haha although i am upgrading pads to the GS5s if i can find them and changing my fluid out for either motul or amsoil.

If you're looking to lessen heat transfer then you should check out the Girodisc Ti shims since that is their intended purpose. If you just mainly use you car as a DD street car then you really don't need to worry much about heat transfer. I noticed no difference in actual braking with or without shims.
