I'm curious as well.
And this thread is great. I may have to try this with a set of old spares I have lying around.
And what if you filled the tire with that stop leak spray goop that comes in cans that you just spray into the tire stem? I suppose that would seal it all up well. Very easy too.

Chains/cables not as good of traction, you can't go as fast, they break easily. They're made for temporary traction aid at low speeds. If the wheels spin very fast they'll fly off. These are for winter ice racing and off-road messing around far as I know. Probably not DOT approved.

Not to mention you dull the crap out of then in a real hurry. Might look pretty neat at night though.... hmmm. Something to think about OP. Post vid if you do it. You probably shouldn't though.

You could try dipping the bolts in sealant before installing them. As the sealant cures it should make a great seal but you might have to find just the right kind of sealant for this application. Rivets installed in pressurized structures are done like this.
