You'll have to run at least a 10-15mm spacer in the front, I believe. You'll have to roll the rears, but I'm not sure about the fronts. Unless you're doing hard cornering, you might be able to get away without rolling fenders. I ran my IX MR on 17x9 +35 w/ 275/40 Kuhmo v710s, which run really wide for 275s and didn't roll anything. I didn't have any issue on stock suspension and I autocrossed it pretty regularly.

so you think with 10-15mm spacers in the front wont have any trouble with turning? and i figured id have to roll the rears so that doesnt bother me.

I wouldn't call a 275 on a 9.5 wheel over kill either.
I run 275s on my corvette on 9.5s
I ran 295s on a 9.5 wheel previously... looks like it has a lot of extra sidewall but the extra gave it a little more forgiving nature on hard cornering.

yea doesnt seem that unreasonable to me but people get all weird and like to start being negative when people wanna run that wide on an AWD car, but hey i think it looks bad a**

275 is pretty wide for a ix... I agree on the 10-15mm spacers might have to remove the lining up front and roll the rears with just a mild drop

Only problem I'd see is a 275/40 tire is pretty tall - usually taller than stock and sometimes over 26". But the +35 offset is your best bet. I have some 275's mounted on 18x9.5" +28 rims and there's no way they'll tuck up into the rear fender. I haven't tried them on the front yet.

That's why a lot of people bump to 18's and run a 275/35-18 on a 18x9.5" wheel.

you think 275/40r17's are tall? i wasnt even worried about the height lol..and i was thinking of running like a 10mm spacer out back and just doing a good job on the fenders.

Definitely, especially on a lowered car with stock bodywork. Autocrossers specifically use the 285/30/18 because it is less than 25" tall. The 275/40/17 is much taller. Although it is more narrow, it is harder to fit.
