Corner Balance Scales

I plan on doing a lot of adjustments to my coilovers and felt that instead of paying 200 a pop at a shop, I could just do it at home. The question is, what are the best brands/scale to get? I think my price range is around 1,000usd.

Maybe you should call robispec and ask what kind of scales that they use. GL

A good set of scales is gonna cost you around 1000 + dollars. It's not cheap but very useful.

Let us know what you find out. I'm interested myself.

I do all my own alignments on the Evo using a leveled floor and strings. I'd love to have some scales to go along with the setup though. I've seen them as cheap as $600.

Check out the how-to section for demo's people have.

for example,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N89-P...eature=related

in the video he adjusts the ride height distribute the weight while..

in the first example, it doesnt say how to set your preload. so if you start chaning that, all your spring preloads will be different. but will it still have the same effect? i have access to scales now, and want to work with my car on them, but want to make sure im doing it correctly

No, idea. I've been busy looking for scales. So far the Intercomp SW500 is looking pretty nice and can be had for under 1k. As for proper procedure, I'm still looking it up. All the sources I've seen have been pretty vague about setting spring preloads.

Check out Longacre racing scales

I went with a set of longacre racing scales and I bought them through davis motorsport of Reno, NV. http://www.shop.davismotorsportsofre...4-Lon72594.htm

You will want to get ramps that have a pad that matches the height of your scale so you can roll the car off the scales then back on.
